The Khol, aka Mridanga is a two-sided drum from Indian state West Bengal. The Mridanga is most popular in northern and eastern India. It’s usually used for accompaniment with devotional music, such as kirtan and bhajan. It’s also used in Bengali folk and semi-classical music.
The elasticity and thickness of the leather straps, immense vibration capacity of fine leather on the bass and treble, compact mesh of burnt clay and burnt metal dust producing tiny fragmented Gab and well-balanced clay body producing sounds intact with bass and treble are main factors of a good quality Mridanga. We provide impeccable Mridanga, custom-made exquisitely for melodious Kirtan.
